There are Kabbalah Centres in over 40 cities around the world. Kabbalah is an ancient wisdom which has been passed down from generation to generation since the beginning of time. It is not a religion as some may think, but it is beliefs and principles that come together to promote joy and a better way of life
Kabbalah Centres are non-profit organizations designed for students and those who are interested in meeting in one place and studying Kabbalah as well as share in fellowship and volunteering activities to better the communities where they are. Until the Centres were established, Kabbalah followers met only in small groups.
The study of Kabbalah originated before Abraham in the Old Testament, and it is linked to the Jewish traditions. The focus of Kabbalah is the Light, and today, students study practical ways to spiritually move closer to it. This ancient wisdom believes that Light and Joy are found in everyone and the studies simply allow the student to move closer to the ancient wisdom.
The first Kabbalah Centre was founded in 1922 in Israel by Rav Yehuda Ashlag. Rav and Karen Berg were students from America for over a decade during the 1950s and 60s. When they finished, they came back to the United States and founded the first Kabbalah Centre in New York City.
Immediately, they began translating the ancient documents of Kabbalah into English and other languages. Religion Centres opened in the following years in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Arizona, and Utah. In the 1990s, when the Internet was available everywhere, Kabbalah University opened its doors online with classes, daily meditations and a place for conventions and events.
The five main beliefs of Kabbalah are: sharing with others the basics of life for fulfillment, balancing the negative ego, spiritual laws of the universe, we are One and from the same Creator and if you leave your comfort zone and make yourself uncomfortable for others, it brings fulfillment. Aside from the brick and mortar Centres, Kabbalah University and online Kabbalah Centre are easy to find. For more information, go to Kabbalah.com.
