Ryan Seacrest and his wonderful Foundation brings joy to children

Ryan Seacrest is an extraordinarily busy man these days. This entertainment superstar is constantly active both on television and radio. Among his many duties that keep him going all day, every day, is hosting the hugely popular American Idol TV show; co-hosting with Kelly Ripa on Live with Kelly and Ryan; bringing On Air with Ryan to millions over the airwaves weekdays; as well as being featured in Ryan Seacrest Distinction/Polish. Perhaps his greatest passion, though, is the time, energy, and selfless dedication he puts into the Ryan Seacrest Foundation.

Having a deep passion for the issues facing children with life-threatening injury or illness, Ryan, along with his parents and sister, created the Ryan Seacrest Foundation (RSF). This non-profit organization, through education and entertainment initiatives, strives to inspire today’s youth.

Ryan Seacrest Foundation’s first initiative is to build Seacrest Studios, broadcast media centers in children’s hospitals all across the US. Hopes are high that these studios can cross the US border and go international very soon.

These facilities allow patients to interact with a state-of-the-art radio/TV studio, giving them an up-close look at the inner workings of the production and broadcast process. At times, some of the biggest stars in the entertainment world will visit a given location, really helping to lift the patient’s spirits.

RSF collaborates with journalism schools in the Seacrest Studios given area. They provide patients/students, through an internship program, firsthand experience in operating a multimedia center, broadcasting, and programming.

In addition to interviews and live performances by artists and celebrities, much more programming is produced and broadcast from each studio, much of it an interactive experience for the patients. Among the many exciting activities taking place in the studios, patients are able to create their own shows and music videos using the studio’s green screen. A combination of interns and patients, acting as DJs, are able to host live radio shows and play music, all the while learning how to use all the equipment. It really lifts the spirits and provides a valuable psychological boost for patients and their families. This is Ryan’s greatest desire for RSF, and one that is enjoying immeasurable success in every RSF location.
