The Traveling Vineyard is an Ipswich, Maine-based company that gives people the opportunity to sell their products as an independent contractor. Called Wine Guides, these independent contractors use direct sales methods to sell Traveling Vineyard’s wines and make money for themselves.

A Wine Guide starts with a Success Kit which includes everything they will need to get started. They also have access to Traveling Vineyard’s “Tasting Room” which is an online training course that teaches them everything they need to know in order to be a successful salesperson. This includes tips on how to expand their business, find new customers, and everything they need to know about wine.

The Wine Guides set up wine tasting events in people’s homes. Everyone gets to sample one of the 5 wines that the Wine Guide Supplies. These events are meant to be fun and informative, without the stuffy air that oftentimes surrounds the world of wine. At the end of the night, the participants of the event are given the opportunity to buy any of the wines they sampled which will be delivered to their door.
